The 40th Marathon de Paris has taken the next step — that of the connected marathon.
On April 3, 57,000 runners will gather at the start line of the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris 2016. Schneider Electric staff, clients, and partners will be there in huge numbers, forming a team of more than 3,000 runners, representing 60 nationalities. Many of them have been using the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris app to stay in touch during the entirety of their preparation, training together and motivating each other.
To further boost motivation, the Marathon app set fun and achievable challenges for everyone: run for 45 minutes, 15 km or before eight in the morning. As the title sponsor of the marathon for the fourth consecutive year, Schneider Electric will be proud to award the winners of these challenges with Mobiya portable lamps.
The Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris app boasts one more special feature — it gave runners the unprecedented ability to see where they stood in their training program compared to other participants.
The application will be updated after the marathon, becoming a live training app, so all runners will be able to stay connected.
The level of connectivity seen at the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris mirrors what Schneider employees do every day for our customers. Our connected solutions help customers optimize operations and save resources. We transform the worlds of energy and automation, and drive technologies forward. We push the limits, using innovation to unlock efficiency and new possibilities. Just like runners do.
All runners and their supporters who want to get to know more about our technologies are welcome to visit the B2B area of the Salon du Running on April 2.
A new shiny medal!
For the third year in a row, the Schneider Electric design office has overseen the creation of the race medal. Designed by the world-renowned studio of Jasper Morrison, the new medal represents the route of the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris and showcases a green line painted on the streets, marking the exact 42.195 km from the start to the finish.
